If you don't take crime seriously and if you chase out your taxpayers, you get yourself into a spiral from which you will not recover. And this isn't theoretical. This just happened in San Francisco about 10 years ago. They got a progressive district attorney, a very progressive mayor, and only now have they dug out of the mess that was created by a lot of those policies by electing more common sense leaders for the mayoral and district attorney position.
