Right now, a second battery offense can be elevated to a felony if the offender has certain prior battery related convictions. This bill adds a prior conviction for resisting an officer with violence to that list of preexisting offenses. And so now those individuals will be held accountable in a more significant way. So I want to thank the members of the legislature who continue to put the pedal to the metal on this. (09:22–09:30)
