In Texas last summer, more than 135 people died in a historic flood. Communities across the south are still struggling to recover from Hurricane Elaine 2024. My home state of Connecticut, a severe rainstorm in August 2024 unleashed deadly flash flooding, causing millions of dollars in damages and killing two people. (08:43–08:49)
