They could not possibly redistrict four months before an election. Multiple Supreme Court justices explicitly made this argument in their opinion. This time, the election is just two months away. So here's the double standard. The very same justices who previously argued that four months was not enough time to redraw maps in order to remedy discrimination are now letting Alabama do it just two months before an election. Apparently, when it comes to erasing black voters and handing another seat to the Republican Party, the standard goes out the window. (03:07–03:23)
