And so Alabama argued that four months was too close to an election to redraw the maps, no matter the reason. And the Supreme Court went along with their argument. The illegal maps, everybody agreed they were illegal, stayed in place for the 2022 midterms because it was too close to the election. Remember that point? Four months before an election was supposedly too late to redraw congressional districts. Now, fast forward to today. Alabama is once again trying to use discriminatory maps. (01:55–02:07)
