I loved serving my community as mayor. Then I surprised everybody, including myself, by going off and running for president. No comment. Part of what I'm proud about from that campaign is that We talked a lot about making the system work for people instead of the other way around. We had a reform agenda that not all of my peers wanted to talk about. Not everybody wanted to hear about fixing our electoral system so that everybody's vote counts the same and the person who gets the most votes wins. (06:32–06:37)
