And if that fails, if institutions fail, then people are not wrong to develop a radically negative attitude toward those institutions. And that's what's happened. It is not just one party, but I would argue, an institutional failure over the last 50 years that has generated in the US so much inequality of wealth and of power that even the right can no longer ignore it. So much debt and indebtedness that even the left can no longer ignore it. These are failures that go beyond. (34:53–35:08)
