I'd been elected to the legislature in 2006, and the 2009, 2010 years were the start of the Great Recession, you know, the heart of it, and the Tea Party movement. And as much as we tried to help people connect the dots, that The Great Recession was, by and large the work of a lot of people who the Tea Party are now trying to put back into office. that message didn't carry.
