And they need to do that in order to generate the donations that they hope to get to win elections in the lower 48. So Alaska is being sacrificed. Mary Paltola carries no weight with the administration, no weight with her democratic colleagues in the Congress, and has not been successful at communicating the importance of Alaska to the rest of the country.
