As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I've been a leading Voice in the 118th Congress on the importance of American leadership in the world, especially when it comes to standing up to these adversaries. History has shown that the world is a scary place when America steps back from its responsibility as leader of the free world. There must be no daylight between the United States and its democratic allies. My first official overseas trip as a member of Congress was to South Korea, Japan and Taiwan with Chairman McCaul and members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee from both parties. (00:55–01:03)
