These things don't seem possible in what Alaskans call the lower 48, and certainly not in our nation's capital. So I asked Representative Faltola, how are they possible in Alaska? Well, Alaska is unique because we really rely on each other for just day to day survival. And we have such a few number of people in such a vast geographic state. I think people in the lower 48 can't fathom the distances. So I am from the community of Bethel. We're about 75 miles off the Bering Sea. (03:45–03:59)
