I know that I would not be in this position if we didn't have the final four system because I would not have made it through a partisan primary. I am not liberal enough to have been elected by Democrats. My views on predator control, my views on Alaska's need for resource development is just not in keeping with the more liberal folks in our party. So I think that with the final four system, you tend to get people who are not establishment, they are not entrenched in their parties, and they're able to appeal to a broader group. (07:01–07:14)
