So I humanize a lot of issues. Through humanizing issues, I build authentic relationships. By building authentic relationships, I can then really start to shift policy. So I'll give an example. When I came in, I was the first openly identified LGBTQ woman in Texas at the Time there was nobody who openly identified on the floor. Now we have six and we have a caucus, which I'm chair of. And now it's actually cool to be part of our caucus because we've worked over time to really humanize these issues. And so there's humanizing issues, there's bringing up policies that people don't talk about. (04:57–05:10)
