The numbers are staggering. The typical domestic worker earns only $21,000 a year, less than half of what other workers make, making them three times more likely to live in poverty. Four in five have no paid sick days, no written agreements, and no pay when jobs are canceled. And one in three don't receive breaks. This is unacceptable. The Domestic Workers Bill of Rights is long overdue, and it would guarantee fair pay, fair working conditions, and dignity for the people who make all other work possible. (01:06–01:13)
