And more importantly than the fact that senators are experiencing our constituents, the people we represent, the people we owe our jobs to, they're the ones that are suffering inconvenience. Transportation security agents and air traffic controllers are among the federal workers deemed essential during a government shutdown, which means they have to work but they're not being paid. And that's a pretty difficult situation for many of these folks to be in. As I said, some of them can't afford child care, to buy groceries, to pay the rent, to pay utilities. (10:05–10:18)
