And it was affecting people also because they were buying these animals and paying enormous veterinarian bills and the heartache that goes with this whole situation. For seven plus years, there had been an effort to try to pass a law. Finally, I was hired to represent Wisconsin Humane Society and work with Wisconsin federated humane societies around the state, law enforcement, veterinarians, concerned citizens, to really try to come up with a law that would appropriately regulate eyes on these places. humans coming to look and say, clean this up or get out of the business.
