You know, to make a long story short, through the 50s, 60s and 70s, the CIA in particular had done a great deal of exciting stuff, by the way, in the region that we're talking about here. You know, we overthrew a democratically elected. We helped overthrow a democratically elected leader in 1954 in [Guatemala]. Guamala, in Guatemala. We don't know the full story, but we probably did the similar thing in 1973 in Chile. And, you know, there were all sorts of just banana stuff happening inside the CIA. (16:16–16:21)
