Our founders wanted to make sure that we couldn't have this kind of executive overreach. Mail in voting, moreover, is safe, secure, and incredibly popular. It's used by people across the country and across the political spectrum. In 2024, nearly 30% of Americans cast ballots by mail. And here in Wisconsin, we have a special history with mail in voting. When Wisconsin soldiers went south to end slavery, our legislature wanted to make sure that the Civil War would not keep those soldiers from participating in democracy that they were defending.
