They had shaped their economic systems to learn from the United States and were not foolish enough to stop when the US Decided to pursue globalization as an end in itself. The American system had become in some ways a global economic system, shaping the structures of economies far beyond our borders. For example, in the middle of the 19th century, a German economist named Friedrich List, he read Hamilton's work. He was inspired by it. (15:26–15:34)
