Then that leads to an awkward fact which is we don't have a lot of American laws about these social media companies. In fact, in the 1990s, at the birth of the Internet, Congress passed Section 230 basically said that social media corporations couldn't be sued for anything that happened on their platforms. Basically immunized them against litigation. That was a really bad idea. Just to give you a sense of what a bad idea it was, there's only two other industries that have that kind of immunity.
