But as I think about who I am today and who I've been ever since 2001, 2002, my first term in the legislature, that two year period of time really, I think, forged me. And that's why I fight to expand access to healthcare, because I fought my mom's insurance company when they wouldn't pay for her chemotherapy. They were supposed to and they weren't.
