We wanted to ensure that public schools would be able to compete on that playing field. That's why we provided the largest funding increase in the history of Texas, more than $8 billion for our public schools. We provided $4.4 billion for teacher pay raises, the largest teacher pay raise ever in the history of our state. Our schools are better funded than they've ever been.
