We must fix a deadly and broken bail system that lets dangerous criminals back out on the streets, by the way, back onto the streets that you are charged with having to patrol. The bail policies in the state of Texas, as I will explain to you, are endangering your deputies, endangering you, endangering your communities on a daily basis. The fact is that activist judges let repeat offenders, gang members, career criminals, back out into the neighborhoods with little or no bail. We must end this easy bail system this session.
