That would mean A US Passport, which most Michiganders don't have, or your original birth certificate with your same name as you currently have [is required for proof of citizenship]. So imagine in particular for women who have a birth certificate for their maiden name and then get married and have a very different name that they're registered to vote, it makes it extremely cumbersome.
