“Yeah, I think that's, I think philosophically that's what's always been offensive about it. I've been a joint author on the bill. I don't like it. I think that When people find out that they are being taxed, which is a use of force by government, and their money is being taken to come out here to basically act against their interests, it ought to offend everybody. It was particularly pronounced for me in the 2019 session when we were trying to lower the rollback rate, when we were trying to deal with, you know, making sure that Texans had more of a say of their skyrocketing property taxes.” (27:32–27:45)
