I was born and raised and grew up in a town called East St. Louis, Illinois. Here's what I learned. We had our Catholic parishes, we had our Catholic schools. When the public school system went to hell in East St. Louis, so did the Catholic schools. They couldn't maintain and sustain livelihood and neighborhoods.
