I've also looked at Title 17 of the Ohio Revised Code, which discusses the rules and requirements around charitable fundraising. And I don't see anything at the moment that jumps out as a clear legal theory. Under current law, The Son of Sam law was not written. In fact, it was before we had such a thing as crowdfunding. a relatively recent phenomenon. It may well be that the General assembly of Ohio should undertake to pass a law that would would regulate this kind of thing as being contrary to the public interest. (04:31–04:41)
