Bush, a Republican, signed into law the reauthorization and the extension of the Voting Rights Act after it had passed the Senate unanimously and with an overwhelming vote in the House of Representatives. It was not in dispute. And here we are just a very short period later where I don't think we'd have any chance of passing something like the Voting Rights act right now with Republican votes or Republican president.
