And some of that is because costs are rising, because housing prices are out of control, because childcare costs $25,000 a year. But some of that is because we have allowed an exodus of good middle class jobs. The city lost more than 76,000 middle income jobs from 2019 to 2023. That's nearly 5% of the jobs that met that good jobs quality standard. We need a mayor who will focus on the quality jobs crisis and turn it into a plan to make sure that every New Yorker has the good job they deserve. (11:43–11:50)
