My plan will invest in safety services and culture in order to protect LGBTQ New Yorkers and allow communities to have a voice in government when for so long people have been ignored and silenced, especially trans New Yorkers. My plan includes creating an independent health authority funded solely by city, state and private funds that we're already spending, but cordoning them off from federal Medicaid funding in order to protect the contraception, abortion and reproductive care and the gender affirming care that New Yorkers need from the Trump administration. And my plan will address the rise in hate crimes against LGBTQ New Yorkers by giving, finally giving proper funding to the New York City Commission on Human Rights. (09:38–10:02)
