In my state, the only reason Republicans have a majority on the US House right now is because, because of a state Supreme Court election in North Carolina in 2020, where The Republican won by 401 votes and then over years was able to drive the hardcore gerrymandering of that state. and add extra, three extra Republican House seats, which is enough to add up to the Republican House majority nationally.
