What the council has always done, what we are going to do is protect New Yorkers. We had a mayor that wanted to cut and devastate New Yorkers. City Council had to come in and restore a whole lot of funding that [the mayor] wanted to take away. that were harming New Yorkers, children, libraries, cultural institutions.
