With Virginia's public schools on break for the summer, many parents across the Commonwealth are having a tough time affording child care right now. So. So here's what I plan to do as the next governor. First, I will focus on giving families more breathing room when it comes to childcare. That means reducing the wait list for the child care subsidy program and allowing more families to participate. And I'll work with the General assembly to provide grants for employers who help their employees with childcare. And I'll work with localities to find vacant property or unused property for new child care sites. (00:30–00:42)
