As we announce this new pilot program to majorly scale up the number of public restrooms in our city, We are announcing the launch of a new program to expand access to public bathrooms across the five boroughs, committing $4 million to a request for proposals for high quality modular public restrooms. Right now, There are nearly 1,000 public restrooms in New York City. That is one public bathroom for 8,500 residents. Why aren't there more restrooms in our city? (02:37–02:51)
