This past May, our city witnessed yet another horrific crash when Francis Del Valle, who was riding an illegal electric scooter capable of speeds of up to 53mph, collided with Dmitry Sichenko, a cyclist on the Queensborough Bridge. Since 2020, E bikes capable of exceeding 25 mph and those with motors that exceed 750 watts have been outlawed here in New York City.
