Texas Farm Bureau wants to see an update to a 1944 treaty outlining Mexico's water payments to the U.S. we're also hoping that we can tie the 1944 water treaty to that because we feel that what's happening in Mexico is withholding our water and using it to grow products that directly compete with our local produce here in the Rio Grande Valley. and we believe that's trade altering. Congressman agrees and adds there needs to be some enforcement. We need to have some teeth into the agreement assuring that they comply with the treaty and maybe we can incorporate it into the USMCA somehow. (00:06–00:27)
