Also included in the package is my bill, the Rural Housing Regulatory Relief act, which removes bureaucratic roadblocks and streamlines the development of affordable housing in America. Our region is rapidly growing and every South Texan deserves a fair shot at home ownership. Despite this administration refusing to sign the landmark piece of legislation into law unless Congress made it harder for Americans to vote, I continue to work with the House Democrats and Republicans to supersede the President's signature and get it across the finish line. The affordable housing crisis is not a big yawn for the American people as the administration would have you believe. In South Texas, working families are getting priced out of home ownership due to tariffs and rising costs. (00:33–00:52)
