That's why I decided to become a state senator, because I saw what was happening on the school board and I wanted to solve more problems in addition to education. I saw in the legislature the opportunity to get things done. I saw the opportunity to fight on behalf of Nebraskans when people are getting taken advantage of, when there was a fight against education, when people weren't getting the wages, when people were taking advantage of union workers and members, when people were trying to take away rights from women, from LGBTQ individuals in our community. And when it continued to happen, I continue to step up alongside all the amazing state senators that I got to say serve with. (15:04–15:26)
