Prior to his work in the Michigan Senate, Hurtel served on the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and for the Department of Community Health. And Barrett served in the US army prior to his time in the Michigan Capitol. You know, Curtis and I know each other well. We served four years in the state Senate. There's a level of respect, but, you know, we serve certainly were adversaries then, and we have a very different worldview. My view of the role of government is vastly different than Curtis.
