I have signed bills out of this, this chamber that established red flag laws, expanded background checks, increased criminal penalties for straw purchasing guns, and passed legislation to ban deadly binary triggers which we need to reestablish this. And in December, I became the first governor in Minnesota history to take executive action focused specifically on gun violence prevention by creating the Statewide Safety Council. and directing our agencies to take new steps to protect Minnesotans across this state.
