In most of the instances, they lose their lives demonstrating extraordinary heroism and bravery. Under existing law, Medal of Honor recipients receive a monthly stipend of $1,400 a month. That's not very much money. Yeah, What the Medals act did is essentially triple that amount. So it increased it from $1,400 to $5,600 a month. That's incredible. So I authored that legislation in the Senate. It passed the Senate unanimously. It passed the House unanimously. And then on Monday, the President signed it into law. (17:31–17:44)
