Earlier this year, I chaired a hearing in the Senate Commerce Committee on the massive economic and national security advantages that would come from acquiring Greenland. On the economic side, There are very significant critical minerals and rare earth minerals in Greenland that would be very beneficial to the United States. And in terms of national security, Greenland has prime location right on the Arctic. And the Arctic is more and more becoming a theater of contention, particularly with Russia and with China.
