From the high cost of care to persistent and widespread shortages of care, the lack of access to affordable child care is straining the finances of families in every corner of my state. But I also hear from Wisconsin business owners report that access to childcare remains a primary barrier to hiring and retaining the employees that they need. I think Wisconsin has done well at using federal investments to connect businesses with childcare needed for their workers, and I'm glad to have the opportunity to share a little bit of that story at today's hearing.
