So every five years we pass a farm bill and my bipartisan co author and I were able to get the Farmers First act made a part of that 2018 farm bill. Now We're reauthorizing [the Farmers First Act] five years later. What we've learned is that the need is great farmers face tremendous headwinds, challenges. They work so hard, especially in dairy, and I'm biased from Wisconsin, but dairy farmers work harder than anyone I know. (00:50–00:53)
