And then there's the substantive representation. And I think about the things that have happened between 1986, when I won a seat on the Dane County Board, and now, where We have federal laws finally advancing and expanding rights, and yet we still have a ways to go. And so Pride Month, in my mind, I take stock of the progress we've made. Never mistake progress for victory, though. And then I thank the generations before us that have been role models.
