And so these are civil cases. They involve civil rights, constitutional issues, issues of broad public interest, and often they would end up in the Wisconsin Supreme Court. And At that time, the Wisconsin Supreme Court had a very conservative, very far right majority that I believed seemed more interested in rubber stamping a Republican agenda at that time, the agenda of the Walker administration. So in other words, we'd win protections for our clients in the circuit courts and then see them overturned in the Supreme Court time after time. (05:23–05:41)
