I hail from the great state of Oklahoma, the third largest producer in the country of oil and the fourth largest in natural gas. My state knows something about domestic energy. This administration has turned its back on American energy production instead. In 2021, the United States purchased 250 million barrels of oil from Russia at a cost of $18 billion. That money went to line the pockets of Vladimir Putin and Russian oligarchs. Instead of buying oil from our adversaries, this administration should help states like Oklahoma, North Dakota and Texas do what we know best, produce affordable and reliable domestic energy for the nation.
