She served in World War II as part of the 6888 Central Postal Directory Battalion, the first and only all black women women's Army Corps unit deployed overseas. If you don't know the story, they were sent to Europe to clear more than 17 million. 17 million of pieces of delayed mail connecting troops to their families. (43:00–43:14)
