In fact, studies have found that COPS funded officers are associated with decrease in violence and property crimes in the year that after they are hired. Since 2016, COPS has funded nearly 100 officer positions across Arizona, including here in Buckeye. Supporting local law enforcement funding should be, and usually is a bipartisan cause. And we need to continue to make sure that we make smart target investments and not cuts to these programs. (04:32–04:40)
