We developed something called Operation Safe Return that actually morphed into Return to Mexico, which pretty well solved the problem of unaccompanied children and families abusing our asylum laws. We actually cut our single adults coming across the border illegally in half until Democrat presidential debates where Democrats said they'd stop defending deportions and offer free health care. Then, of course, President Biden came into office. The border completely opened up. We're dealing with 7,000 people per day being encountered. It's out of control. (42:56–43:08)
